This is the single bottle size decanter that Amazon had incorrectly labeled as a 1-1/2 liter size on another listing. The shape is nice, and with 750ml of wine in it, there's plenty of surface area exposed to help soften up those tough tannins. My only issue is that the "bulge" around the girth makes it a bit difficult to pour out the last of your wine. Riedel (the parent company of Spiegelau) used to make a decanter that looked like a Hershey's Kiss that was stretched upward. This was a great shape that was both esthetically pleasing and very functional. However, since young Max Riedel has taken over the reigns of the family business, and is designing the new decanters, they have become increasingly bizarre in shape, and and almost useless in functionality. Witness the "Mamba", or as I call it "Your Intestines". Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but this one I just don't get. And good luck trying to empty your wine out of it, or wash it. Come on, kid, things become classics for a reason.
