Phase one of the this three step process begins by pouring the wine through the stainless steel filter, catching sediment then disbursing through the first of the double wall aerator. In phase two the wine is gently disbursed again, this time into the sides of a specially designed globe providing a totally new aeration process never possible before. In phase three the wine continues into the final enhancer and travels strategically out onto the side of the decanter at a rate determined to provide superior aeration and oxygenation. This set was inexpensive, arrived quickly and looks nice out of the box. However, after using is for a few months it's flaws are apparent. The Aerator is glass and constructed in a way that you can never really get all of the liquid out of it, so it never really fully dries after washing. Over time, this causes the aerator to become discolored in the rim and there is no way to get anything inside it to clean it. The decanter itself is nice, it can be cleaned with special brushes that can reach the bottom, although it's not very durable. After several washes the rim chipped. Overall, the aerator is a bad design and the decanter is ok. Just don't expect it to last too long.
